We have recently launched the full range of Gourmet Classic cooking liqueurs, spirits and eaux de vie.
Eaux De Vie: Kirsch, Peach, Pear William, Plum, Strawberry
Translated as 'water of life', a good Eau de Vie captures fresh, lively fruit flavours rather than the depth, weight or complexity of spirits, achieved by oxidation and prolonged wood contact. Colourless, and with no apparent sweetness, these perfect expressions of concentrated flavour have existed for centuries, and now these once-forgotten ingredients are becoming used again. Ideal for: patisserie, ice creams, sorbets, flambé and sauces.
Liqueurs: Creme de Cassis, Orange Liqueur, Creme de Framboise, Cherry Brandy, Creme de Menthe, Amaretto
Liqueurs are usually prepared by infusing the main flavouring agent in water, alcohol or sugar solution. Some liqueurs are distilled but all are noticeably sweet and have a characteristic colour - usually from the flavouring fruit, herb, flower, root or nut. Ideal for: cold sweets, desserts, fruit dishes and sweet sauces and cream.
Spirits: Whisky, Gin, Calvados, Dark Rum, Pastis
Ideal for: jus, sauces, flambé, braising, creams and sweets.
